Building Surveyor

Robert Joined McFarland Consulting in 2018 after graduating with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Building Surveying. Since joining the team Robert has gained extensive experience assessing the condition of buildings and infrastructure in both private and public sectors throughout the UK and Ireland.

With a background in Construction and previous experience in Project Management he has since been involved in condition assessments on a range of traditional masonry buildings, reinforced concrete and steel structures including building facades, floor and roof structures, bridges, car parks and tunnels.  This has given him a strong understanding of the associated surveying and testing techniques and equipment used in undertaking a vast range of tasks.

His hands-on approach to surveying and capabilities have been utilised on projects such as overseeing and carrying out detailed surveys and investigations of fire damaged structures and listed buildings, to underground and marine structures.  With industry training in Working at Heights, Ancillary Asbestos, Confined Space Access, Electricity, Water, PASMA and First Aid, he has the skills necessary to assist with a wide variety of high risk, hard to reach or unusual surveying applications.
