Receiving an award for Excellence in Building Processes from the Concrete Society, McFarland Consulting were engaged to design and supervise the remediation of Abercorn Bridge.
Inspection, Non-Destructive Testing, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and load testing of the 83-year-old four span bridge structure over the River Strule were undertaken, leading to the production of detailed condition, FEA and load test reports including repair specification and a Bill of Quantities (BoQ). Design and sign-off of a Cathodic Protection system and ongoing monitoring of performance.
